Reading this absolutely fascinating book “The Rule of Empires” – written by Timothy Parsons. I have read a lot of history, but this one is still an eye-opener. The revenue extraction MO’s of different conquering sides – British in India, Nazis in Europe, Spanish in Peru, Muslims in Spain, Romans in Britain – so different, yet so similar…it reads like a rich economic history of these countries and people – both conquerors and conquered.
Money is what it’s all about 🙂
